About Kelly

I’m Kelly, lead personal trainer at Fitness Focus. Throughout my life I have developed a passion for fitness and a desire to help others achieve their health and fitness goals. It is important for new potential clients to learn and understand my philosophies about health and fitness.

It is all about education and awareness. It is not just about a workout, but it will make you better today than yesterday. Regular workouts will diminish problems and grow confidence. A workout is a personal triumph over laziness and procrastination. A workout is a wise use of time and an investment in your health. A workout is a key to opportunity and success in all aspects of your life.

A little history of how I got started in the fitness world. I was a sick little girl. I was in and out of doctors for 10 years; they kept telling me my complaints were in my head. When I was finally diagnosed with hypoglycemia at age 16, my life changed dramatically. I read about diabetes and the answer was exercise will improve blood glucose levels. I started eating better and exercising everyday. I felt wonderful and told the benefits of exercise to anyone who wanted to listen. A career was born in 1978.

While I was in college studying Business Marketing and Modern Dance, I took an interest in body building and competed on the amateur level for 5 years. I pulled a leg muscle (hamstring) while dancing and when it did not heal, I ended up in the athletic trainer’s office. I told the trainer which hamstring muscle was injured and when he tested me, he suggested I look into studying Athletic Training. I took his advice and earned a Master’s in Athletic Training and Exercise Physiology from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.

When I finished my schooling, I moved to NYC and worked on Wall Street as a fitness trainer for the Principles and Managing Directors of a large Investment Banking Firm. I got my experience and moved to Aspen, CO where I opened my first fitness studio, Fitness Focus I. I had my studio for several years and took a sabbatical and moved to Washington, D.C. where I worked in the corporate fitness world once again. After 2 years, I moved back to Colorado to open Fitness Focus II and have been operating this facility since1997.

It has been a privilege and honor to teach and educate individuals of all ages on fitness, nutrition, health and wellness. I look forward to many more years of inspiring clients.
